Trim your wick to approximately 6mm before lighting to prevent mushrooming, reduce soot and ensure a clean, even burn. A properly trimmed wick means a longer-lasting candle. Trimming your wick eliminates mushrooming which causes unnecessary soot and will help ensure a clean burn for your candle, meaning you will get more from your candle – if your wick is too big, so is the flame and therefore it will burn through your candle faster.
