Matcha Tea has traditionally been used in tea ceremony rituals in China and Japan. Our certified-organic Japanese Matcha Powder is made from specially processed, young green tea leaves. Matcha contains less caffeine than coffee and is rich in antioxidants and the amino acid L-theanine (the total polyphenolic content found in matcha tea falls within the range of 169–273 mg GAE/g).

Serving Suggestion

• Matcha Tea: Press 1/2 teaspoon matcha tea powder through a small sieve into a bowl. Add 1/4 cup hot water (not boiling) and whisk vigorously for 1-2 minutes until a foam is formed. Pour into a mug and top up with more hot water if desired.
• Matcha Latte: Press 1/2 teaspoon matcha tea powder through a small sieve into a cup. Add 1/4 cup hot water (not boiling) and whisk vigorously for 1-2 minutes. Heat 1 cup milk in a saucepan and add 1-2 teaspoons coconut sugar to sweeten. Pour the heated milk into the cup containing the tea. Dust with extra matcha tea powder.
• Alternatively, add to smoothies, raw desserts, ice-cream, pancakes and baking.
