Your Weekend Off... by Ballantynes Home Kitchen is our new weekly meal delivery service, providing comforting, freshly-made meals delivered straight to your doorstep. Ready to re-heat and eat when you are.


Our team of talented Chefs at Ballantynes Home Kitchen lovingly create seasonal meals from locally sourced ingredients for you to enjoy. You and your family will be dining on fresh, wholesome and utterly divine dinners with meal options from 2-10 guests priced at $35 per person. 

Delivery is simple - we offer home delivery and click and collect options. Order by 2 pm each Tuesday and receive your gorgeous box of delicious two-course meals on Friday - perfect for the weekend! Even better, our delectable menu changes weekly. Please note this service is available in Christchurch only.

A NOTE FROM BALLANTYNES HOSPITALITY MANAGER HELEN KRAAL

Thanks to those who have become our Home Kitchen “regulars”. Our Chefs are just loving bringing their home cooking to your home.

So what’s on this week?
Some call it Parmi, others call it Parma. Some say it originated in Italy, others say North America. Either way, this week’s Chicken Parmigiana is bound to be popular. Served with not one but two delicious sides - this dish will make a perfect dinner.

For those who prefer a meat free alternative or would like to try something a little different -  the Pan Fried Falafel will not disappoint. Served with a roasted cauliflower and cous cous salad. This dish is a great dinner or weekend lunch.

Our Chef de Partie, Micaela, has created the most incredible desserts this week. Both would go so well with either main.

If I had to choose…. Chicken Parmigiana followed by White Chocolate Mousse slice. Delicious.

How it works.

What is included?

A two-course dinner (your choice of one main, sides and your choice of one dessert) for a minimum of two guests.

How much will I pay?

2 guests x $80 4 guests x $160 6 guests x $180 8 guests x $200 10 guests x $250 Delivery charge is $15

What is the delivery area?

The delivery area includes: • Christchurch • Lyttelton • Rangiora • Pegasus • Rolleston • West Melton • Kaiapoi • Broadfield • Weedons

How do I order?

Orders are required by Tuesday 2 pm and delivery will be on Friday of that week. Order online by completing the form above.

When do I get my order?

Following the placement of your order, your items will be delivered via Sub60 urgent courier on Friday of that week. If you provide your email address when you place your order, we will be able to send you an alert when your meal box is picked up from us.

Can I click and collect?

Yes – you can collect your meal box from our store at 43 Lichfield Street on the Friday following the placement of your order. You will have the opportunity to discuss this option when we call to confirm your order and take your payment.

Where are the items made?

All the food, including our freshly baked bread, is lovingly made by our Ballantynes Chefs using our favourite local suppliers.

How long will the items last?

The dishes will last for three days in the fridge.

Will I need to prepare anything?

No - this is all about having a night off! No reading recipes; getting ingredients or spending time in the kitchen. Simply heat and serve.

How do I reheat the meal?

It would be best if you use a conventional oven. However, if you only have a microwave or stovetop - the result might be a little different, but the taste will still be great.

Do I need to add any ingredients?

Our meals are all pre-made so have the opportunity to relax! However, if you love extra condiments and accompaniments with your meal such as chilli sauce for your main or ice cream with your dessert - feel free to add these from your supplies.

Are there any preservatives in the food?

No! All dishes are made fresh to order with no preservatives.

What if I have a food allergy or want to swap something?

Unfortunately, we are unable to make any substitutions to the current menu.
