Our Registry provides a simple solution to the guesswork of gift giving.

The Selection

From the largest to the smallest item. Choose from a myriad of distinctive gifts that are sure to be treasured for a lifetime... including

  • Fine china, crystal, silver and kitchenware.
  • A wide selection of home accessories, including imported cushions, and lamps.
  • Beautiful linens for the bedroom, bathroom and dining room.

We offer a complimentary gift wrapping service and can arrange nationwide delivery.

How It Works

It is simple. With the assistance of a Registry Consultant, you compile a list of gifts you would like to receive from your guests. We will supply you with a set of registry cards to send out with your invitations so your guests know you have a register at Ballantynes. After that you leave it to us.

We will help your friends and family select a gift from your registry, which we will monitor to avoid duplications.

Friends and family living out of town and abroad simply telephone or email us to select a gift from your Registry to purchase.

Is a Gift Registry only for a wedding?

Not at all - Ballantynes gift registries are for any events, including birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, house warmings and engagements. We make the process of setting up and maintaining a Registry simple for the recipient as well as easy for guests to purchase from.

How long before my event should I come in to make up my Registry?

We recommend you set up your Registry 6-8 weeks before your event. However, if you are sending out your invitations before this, it is advisable that you register your details with us so your guests are aware that you have your list with us.

How much does it cost to set up a Registry?

Nothing - the Ballantynes Registry service is complementary.

How do I set up my Registry?

Our Registry Consultants provide you with a highly personalised service and will help you select items that you will love and your guests will enjoy giving. Ideally we meet with you to arrange this, walk around the store with you and answering any questions you may have, but if you are unable to come in for an appointment, you can still set up a Registry.

What are my options of cards to include in my invitations?

We will provide Gift Registry cards for you to include with your invitations. These cards contain information for your guests on how to see and purchase from your list.

How long does it take until my guests can start purchasing?

Once you set up your Registry, your guests can start to purchase from your list within 1-2 days.

Delivery

Once an item from a Registry is purchased, we will then gift wrap it and store it together with the other purchased gifts for that Registry, until delivery instructions are confirmed. If delivery is required within the Christchurch metropolitan area, Ballantynes will provide this free of charge. For deliveries outside of Christchurch, please contact us to discuss options and associated costs.

I'm not sure which name the Registry I'd like to buy from is under - what can I do?

Do I need to know the gift recipients' address?

You are not required to know or provide the gift recipients' address in order to purchase from a Registry.

How much does it cost to have items gift wrapped?

This complimentary service provides you with a stylish yet classic looking gift that adds to the ease of purchasing.

Availability of gifts on a Registry

Ballantynes cannot guarantee that items available upon registration will be available throughout the period of the Gift Registry due to seasonal variations or other factors. Ballantynes will endeavour to fulfil all selections made by your guest/s.
